Emergency Financial Support

Salford Assist • Salford City Council – Short term support to people in crisis. EG. a referral for baby milk, nappies or food for your baby and your family, essential furniture items, for example a bed, or white goods, shopping vouchers, help with emergency supply of gas or electric where there is no heating in the household, advice and referrals to another service, agency or fund, council tax support, copies of birth certificates for homeless people. Langworthy Food Club – Every Tuesday from 10am – 2pm – supports those struggling with affording weekly food shopping requirements. Offering a discounted price of £3.50(Cash Only) per week for a generous bag of fresh food items, vegetables and available toiletries – click here

The Lighthouse – you can get a meal at the Lighthouse on Thursdays at 1pm at 12 Centenary Park, Coronet Way, Salford, M50 1RE.

The Salvation Army – Eccles have a community café on a Monday from 9.45am – 12.15pm. They are at St James’ Church Hall, Vicarage Close, Salford and you can contact them on eccles@salvationarmy.org.uk, 07918402776.

St.James’ Catholic Parish Church in Salford offer Warm Wednesdays from 12.30pm – 2pm where you can get soup and a sandwich. Use the back door to go in – Pendleton Way, Salford, M65JA, 03301281554.

St. Andrew’s Church in Eccles community café from 10am – 2pm on a Friday with tea, coffee, cakes and toast. Chadwick Road Eccles Manchester, M30 0NZ, United Kingdom.

Langworthy Cornerstone offer free hot meals on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6.30pm until 8pm at 451 Liverpool Street, Salford M6 5QQ, 0161 213 1920 reception@langworthycornerstone.co.uk.

The Angel Centre offer food Monday to Thursday from 10am – 2pm. Free tea and coffee all day, lunch served 12-1pm, only 50p, 1 Saint Philip’s Pl, Salford M3 6F, 0161 710 1075.

    Unfortunately, we are not an emergency service and are not available 24/7.

    Always ring Greater Manchester Police on 999 if you’re in need of urgent help or are in danger.

    • When are you open?

    Safe in Salford’s helpline & services are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

    • Is this confidential?

    Yes, all correspondence, in-person or over email or phone, is treated as completely confidential.

    • Can I book a face-to-face appointment?

    Yes, when contacting us, please tell us whether you would prefer to discuss your situtation face-to-face, and we will facilitate this for you.

    • Can I self-refer?

    • I’m from outside from Salford, can I access the service?

    Unfortunately, we can only provide domestic abuse support in Salford.

    Yes, Safe in Salford offers support for children and young people affected by domestic abuse in their families helping them in forming positive, healthy relationships.

    Support can also be offered to young people displaying harmful behaviour in their own relationships.

    • How can I support my friend/family member who is experiencing domestic abuse?

    • Is there support for my partner?

    Yes, Safe in Salford also provides confidential, non-judgemental Perpetrator Support for those who recognise their abusive behaviour as a problem and want to work on developing healthy relationships.

    Yes, Safe in Salford is completely LGBTQ+/trans inclusive, and we will treat you and your identity with the utmost respect.
