What happens when you are referred to Safe in Salford as a high risk victim?

How will you support me?

An IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advocate) will contact you within 2 days of you being referred to Safe in Salford. If you miss the calls please use the contact form below to get in touch.

The IDVA will gain your view on the situation and represent your view at the MARAC meeting.

IDVA’s assist with practical intervention and safety planning to reduce risk and improve safety. They provide information about all the options available to you so you can make informed choices about any support you would like to engage with. See below for types of support.

Types of support:

Safety planning – the IDVA will carry out an Initial/review safety planning covering sat home/in the community/at work/ school and online.
 
Multi Agency Partnership Working – Liaison with all relevant partners to safeguard you and your children.
 
Criminal – Support with the Criminal Justice Journey/ Liaison with Police and Criminal Justice Agencies/Providing Updates and support at Criminal Court.
 
Civil – Support with emergency Injunctions such as Non-Molestation Orders/ Occupation orders and Child Arrangement orders.
 
Children – to advocate for your children at safeguarding meetings/ liaison with CSC and any other family support/ referrals to Harbour (CYP)
 
Housing – Support with any emergencies re; housing/ refuge accommodation/ homeless assessments/ support with rent arrears/ Liaison with housing providers.
 
Security – Sanctuary/Fire referrals/additional security measures to secure current property.
 
Finances – Signposting for support with finances/budgeting/debts/housing arrears.
 
Immigration – Refer to specialist immigration support services/ solicitors.
 
Mental Health/health – Signposting/referrals to mental health support services/ in house mental health support at Salford Foundation/ liaison with GP.
