We recently celebrated International Women’s Day with a day full of connection, creativity, and reflection. The event was attended by both professionals and service users and provided a wonderful opportunity for our team to meet professionals we work alongside, for service users to meet the team, and for everyone to come together to celebrate strong women and connect with others.
There was something for everyone — from a rage room and paint throwing to arts and crafts, karate sessions, and a calming wellbeing space. We were also joined by the fire service and police, and of course we enjoyed plenty of food and cake together.
We also had a donations room filled with lots of goodies for our service users to take away, helping to make the day even more supportive and meaningful.
One of the most powerful moments of the day was hearing Emma’s story. It was sad and emotive, yet incredibly inspiring. Her experience reminded us why we continue to work in this field — to support and help women who are experiencing domestic abuse.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so special.
